On Sunday July 30, 2017, the Greene County Baptist District Association celebrated a truly historic event -The Dedication of the Greene County Missionary Baptist Association Christian Center located at 684 Finches Ferry Road, Eutaw, Alabama 35462.
The guest speaker was Reverend (Dr.) Vernon Swift, President of the Alabama State Missionary Baptist Convention, Inc. and pastor of Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
Moderator Miller stated “ We have gathered here today to dedicate this building to God. God saw fit to allow us to occupy this place after we had met in several churches over the years. Today, having completed the work necessary to fully occupy this place, we can now dedicate this building and its functions to God.”
The dedication services were well attended. Greetings were delivered by Eutaw, Mayor Raymond Steele and the President of the Alabama State Missionary Women Auxiliary Sis. Maxine Abrams. The Greene County Ushers Alliance served as guest ushers.
The Greene County District Life Center will be used as the district headquarters where the Annual District Association Women’s Convention, Sunday School and BTU Congress, Joint Board Meeting, Monthly Ministerial Alliance and Ministers’ Wives meeting and various Greene County District Youth activities will be held. Rev. Miller stated the following: “The securing of this building was a resounding success, but we couldn’t have done it without you. We would like to take this opportunity to say a heartfelt ‘Thank You’ to all Greene County Baptist District Association Ministers and their congregations, Moderator Emeritus Reverend Arthur Coleman, Mr. Lesley Carlisle, President of the Sunday School and BTU Congress, Mrs. Janetta Hall, President of the Greene County Women’s Auxiliary, Ms. Reola Bizzell, Mrs. Alfretta Crawford, T& J Production and to each individual who assisted with making our Dedicatory Program a great success.”
