The Federation of Greene County Employees Federal Credit Union (FOGCE) held its annual membership meeting on Friday, December 13, 2024. The Drop-by arrangement brought in 65 credit union members who received gift bags and cast votes for board and credit committee members. Members also received door prizes provided by the board members.

Members have a voice in determining the policies and direction of the credit union through selection of board and credit committee members. The board of directors and the credit committee are selected from the membership by the membership. At the recent annual meeting, the board members reelected are Darlene Robinson, Mollie Rowe and Rodney Pham. Credit Committee members reelected are Mary Dunn, Vonda Richardson and Rodney Pham.

Other board members include Carol Zippert, Jacqueline Allen, Jimmy Pasteur and Earnest Edmonds. The Officers of the board are Dr. Carol Zippert, President, Mrs. Darlene Robinson, Vice-President and Chair of the Supervisory Committee, Ms. Mollie Rowe, Secretary.

FOGCE is a cooperatively owned financial institution that has served this community for 49 years, yet many residents seemingly do not realize the extraordinary benefits this local credit union offers and delivers. The Federation of Greene County Employees Federal Credit Union (FOGCE) was established in 1975 and currently has over 800 members with assets totaling $1,807, 598.

The credit union, which was certified as a Community Development Financial Institution in 2021, has subsequently received various CDFI Fund grants for new equipment, technological upgrades, technical assistance, education, training and staff support. Other grants sponsored by the Alabama State Association of Cooperatives have provided resources for facility upgrades and direct services to members.
