The Greene County Board of Education met in a called session, Tuesday, July 24, 2018 and approved the hiring of LaVonda Blair as Chief School Financial Officer. CSFO Blair was hired for a period of three years and will begin her duties with the school system on August 6. For the past 20 + years Blair worked with the State of Alabama in the Departments of Mental Health, Revenue and Treasury in the fields of accounting and finance. She has earned Bachelor and Master Degrees in Business Administration from Troy University. The CSFO’s position is one that is filled by the school board alone. This position does not require the recommendation of the superintendent. The CSFO is responsible directly to the board but must work under the daily supervision of the superintendent
